Opening Prayer for Prayer Vigil before the Blessed Sacrament
Priest; "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
Congregation; "Amen."
Priest; "Lord Jesus Christ, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, we come before You tonight with hearts filled with faith, hope, and love. We adore You, we praise You, and we thank You for the countless blessings You have bestowed upon us.
As we gather in Your Eucharistic Presence, we place before You our needs and the needs of all Your people. Look with mercy upon us, upon our families and our loved ones. Strengthen those who are burdened and comfort those who are sorrowful. Heal those who are sick and guide those who are searching for light and direction.
Lord, bless our homes and communities. Grant us hearts that seek peace and hands that serve generously. Grant that our spirits will work for justice and reconciliation. Help us to work towards the common good. May we become instruments of Your love wherever You call us to serve.
We pray for our world. Bring peace where there is conflict and hope where there is despair. Vouchsafe healing where there is suffering and unity where there is division. Protect the poor, the vulnerable and the lonely. Protect all who cry out for help. May Your compassion reach every corner of the earth.
Lord Jesus, present in the Blessed Eucharist, hear the prayers we carry in our hearts. We bring before You the intentions entrusted to us by others. As we keep vigil before You, deepen our faith and renew our hope. Inflame our hearts with Your Divine Love, that we may follow You faithfully in this life and one day rejoice in Your Presence forever in heaven.
We ask this through Christ our Lord."
Congregation; "Amen."
