BLOW TO THE FACE OF CHRIST

JOHN 18

The High Priest Questions Jesus

19 Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about His disciples and His teaching.

20 “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied. “I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret. 21 Why question Me? Ask those who heard Me. Surely they know what I said.”

22 When Jesus said this, one of the officials nearby struck Him in the Face. “Is this the way You answer the high priest?” he demanded.

23 “If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike Me?” 24 Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

The Blow Upon His Holy Face

Before the court our Saviour stood,
The Lord of mercy, truth and good.
No angry answer did He give,
But showed us how God's saints should live.

An officer with cruel hand,
Struck Christ, Who at the trial did stand.
With quiet strength Jesus stood there,
Endured the shame with patient care

The Saviour spoke with quiet grace,
No trace of vengeance marked His Face:
"If I have spoken words untrue,
Then show the wrong that I did do.

"But if the truth My Lips have said,
Why strike My Face?" the Saviour pled.
Yet still He bore the shame and pain,
To cleanse our hearts from sin's dark stain.

How often little wounds we bear,
Of harsh rebuke or pain unfair.
Misjudged by those who cannot see,
Or burdened by adversity.

A thoughtless word, a cold disdain,
A hidden grief, a quiet pain;
These lesser crosses come our way,
To meet us in life's passing day.

Then let us bear them patiently,
With humble hearts and charity.
For every trial, great and small,
Can draw us nearer Christ, our All.

United to our suffering King,
Our tears become an offering;
For He who wore the crown of thorn,
Will raise our hearts to Heaven's morn.

O Lord, when trials fill our days,
Teach us to walk in all Your ways;
To bear each cross with faith and love,
Until we dwell with You above.

CANAANITE WOMAN OF FAITH

Canaanite woman of faith

A Canaanite came from afar,
Led onward by faith's guiding star;
She sought the Lord with earnest plea,
"Have mercy, Lord, O pity me!

"Great Son of David, hear my cry!
Do not, dear Lord, just pass me by;
My daughter suffers day and night,
Oppressed by evil's fearful might."

At first the Saviour answered not,
Yet still she trusted, faltered not!
She knelt before His gracious Face,
And sought His loving help and grace.

"My Lord," she said, "I know Your power;
Please help my child this very hour."
The Saviour drew her faith to light,
Till all could see its wondrous might.

"It is not right," the Master said,
"To take the children's daily bread,
And cast it to the dogs instead,"
Yet still in faith she bowed her head.

"Yes, Lord," she answered, meek and wise,
"Yet little dogs beneath arise;
To gather crumbs that gently fall,
From tables rich enough for all."

Then Jesus smiled with joy untold;
Her steadfast faith was strong as gold.
"O woman, great your faith has proved!
Your humble trust has deeply moved."

That very hour her child was free;
Christ triumphed o'er the enemy.
The Saviour's mighty word brought peace,
Thus all her daughter's pain did cease.

So when our trials seem too great,
Let faith, not fear, direct our fate.
For those who seek the Lord above
Will find His mercy, power and love.

WISE MEN FROM THE EAST

MATTHEW 2

Wise Men from the East

2 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:

‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler

Who will shepherd My people Israel.’

7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”

9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

12 Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.

The Wise Men and the King

From eastern lands the wise men came,
To seek the Child of holy fame;
A shining star through darkest night,
Led onward by its brilliant light.

Across the hills, through desert sand,
They journeyed to the promised Land;
With faithful hearts they sought God's Son,
The long-promised and Anointed One.

They found the Child with Mary there,
In quiet peace and humble care.
They bowed before His sacred Face,
Their hearts made glad by boundless grace.

Gold and resins they gifted there,
Precious gifts offered with loving care;
No earthly throne their eyes did meet,
Yet still they worshipped at Christ's Feet.

The little Jesus raised His eyes,
With love that reached beyond the skies;
He looked on each with tender grace,
A smile of mercy lit His face.

Though but a Child, He knew each heart,
And loved them from the very start.
The Light that shone from His great grace,
Shone brightly in that humble place.

So may we too seek our holy King,
And grateful hearts before Him bring.
May we be faithful to God's Son,
Who victory over death has won.

I AM THE VINE, YOU ARE THE BRANCHES

John 15

The Vine and the Branches

15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in Me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.

9 “As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love. 10 If you keep My commands, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love. 11 I have told you this so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit - fruit that will last - and so that whatever you ask in My Name the Father will give you. 17 This is My command: Love each other.

The True Vine

O Jesus, Lord, the Living Vine,
Whose grace and love through branches shine;
Apart from You our strength must cease,
Our hearts know neither joy nor peace.

No branch can bloom by will alone,
Nor bear the fruit that heaven has known;
Your living sap, so rich and free,
Flows through the soul that trusts in Thee.

By faith we're grafted to Your Side,
In You we live, in You abide;
Your Spirit fills each willing heart,
And gives us grace to do our part.

Then clusters fair begin to grow,
As heaven's living blessings flow;
Like ripened grapes on autumn's vine,
They speak of love and life Divine.

Their sweetness feeds the faint with cheer,
Brings hope to hearts weighed down by fear;
They strengthen all who taste Your grace,
And draw the lost to seek Your Face.

So prune us, Lord, with loving hand,
To flourish by Your wise command;
Though pruning brings a passing pain,
It yields a richer, sweeter gain.

Until that glorious final day,
When earth and shadow fade away;
We'll hear the words our hearts have sought:
"My friends, well done - you lacked for naught."

No richer gift could we receive,
No greater joy could hearts conceive -
Than Christ to call us, face to Face,
His friends for all eternal days.

ST JOHN THE EVANGELIST

St John the Evangelist

St. John, whose eagle soars on high,
With piercing gaze toward heaven's sky;
Beheld the Word, eternal, bright,
And led our hearts into God's light.

John journeyed close beside the Lord,
And treasured every sacred word.
John leaned upon the Saviour's breast,
There his seeking soul found rest.

John's gospel tells of grace Divine,
Where love and truth forever shine;
From Bethlehem to Calvary's tree -
John shows the Son Who sets us free.

The eagle teaches us to love,
Sacred truths from God above;
To rise beyond earth's fleeting care,
And find God's loving Presence there.

John's words, though written long ago,
Still make faith's living river flow;
They kindle hope in every age,
As light that fills each sacred page.

O John, evangelist, pray that we
May know our Christ more perfectly;
Grant us the eagle's eyes to see,
The splendour of God's mystery.

The eagle is the symbol of Saint John the Evangelist, whose gospel emphasizes the Divinity of Christ. Flying higher than any other bird, the eagle is the emblem of John's keen insight into mystical doctrine.

ICON OF CHRIST PANTOCRATOR

Christ Pantocrator - Ruler of All

Christ Pantocrator, Lord Divine,
Whose endless love through ages shine;
You hold the stars within Your Hand,
And walk with us through every land.

Your mighty Word the heavens made,
The light, the sea, the silent glade;
Through the gifts the earth has grown,
Your boundless mercy is made known.

From golden grain comes living bread,
By loving hands so gently fed;
From ripened grapes comes joyful wine,
A humble gift with grace Divine.

These earthly signs, so plain, so small,
Reveal the Lord who governs all -
Your holy power transforms our days,
And fills our hearts with songs of praise.

You heal the broken, calm our fears,
And dry the sorrow of our tears.
You cleanse our hearts with love Divine,
And nourish us with bread and wine.

The Bread of Life, the Cup of Grace,
Reveal Your love in every place;
The God who reigns in heaven above
Comes down to us with endless love.

From clustered grapes the rich wine flows,
A sacred gift God's mercy shows.
Through humble fruit God's grace we see,
As sign of holy mystery.

Through humble gifts Your life we share,
Your sacred Presence everywhere;
The Lord of Glory, strong and mild,
Receives each soul as His own child.

O Christ, Almighty Lord of all,
You answer every faith-filled call.
Lead us by faith until we see,
Your Face throughout eternity.

With thankful hearts we now proclaim,
All glory to Your holy Name!
Through Your gifts we are made new,
All praise, O Lord, belongs to You.

HAIL, HOLY QUEEN

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,

Hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope;

Do thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;

To thee do we send up our sighs,

Mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.

Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us;

And after this, our exile,

Show unto us the Blessed Fruit of thy womb Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary,

Pray for us, O most holy Mother of God.

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

O God, Whose only begotten Son, by His Life,

Death and Resurrection has purchased for us the rewards

of eternal salvation; Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating

upon the mysteries of the most holy  rosary of the Blessed Virgin

Mary, that we may both imitate what they contain, and obtain what

they promise, through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace,

The Lord is with thee;

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners now,

And at the hour of our death,

Amen.

LORD JESUS REGARDED HIM

Mark 10

The Rich and the Kingdom of God

17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to Him and fell on his knees before Him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

18 “Why do you call Me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good - except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honour your father and mother.’[d]

20 “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.”

21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” He said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

22 At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23 Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”

24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?”

27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

28 Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow You!”

29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for Me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields - along with persecutions - and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

What Might Have Been

A wealthy young man knelt one day,
Before the Lord to seek the Way;
Christ looked with love into his face,
And called him to a life of grace.

"Go, sell your treasures, follow Me;
Come walk the road that makes you free."
Yet bound by all his riches dear,
He turned away with heart sincere.

He left with sadness in his eyes,
Still captive to earth's gilded prize.
His purse was full, his barns were wide,
Yet something precious in him died.

The Twelve knew hunger, dust, and rain;
Long roads and weariness and pain.
No certain bed, no purse of gold,
Yet hearts on fire, courageous, bold.

They crossed the seas and climbed the hills,
To do their Master's holy Will.
Though earthly comforts they had none,
Their souls rejoiced in God's own Son.

They heard His laughter on the way,
They learned from Him from day to day.
They watched His mercy freely flow,
And felt His endless love bestow.

They shared the labour and the strife,
Yet found the deepest, richest life.
For every burden they embraced,
Was brightened by the Master's grace.

The years rolled by with silent tread;
The young man, now grown old instead;
Looked round upon his treasured store,
Yet found it satisfied no more.

His silver gleamed, his vineyards spread,
His tables groaned with daily bread.
But through the silence came again
The Voice that once had called his name.

He wondered, with a longing sigh,
"What joy have I let pass me by?
What roads with Christ I might have trod,
To build the Kingdom of my God."

"What friends in faith I never knew,
What wonders I declined to view;
What souls I never helped to see,
The love that first was shown to me."

His wealth remained; his years had fled;
His heart recalled the words once said.
Too late he saw what love had shown:
No treasure shines like Christ alone.

So let us heed the Master's call,
And freely yield to Him our all.
Though hardship marks the pilgrim's way,
His faithful Presence lights each day.

The cross is heavy; still we sing,
For Christ is with us, Lord and King.
No sacrifice for Him is vain;
Eternal joy is greater gain.

Let none look back with sorrow's tear,
And wish they had drawn Christ more near.
Walk with Him while yet you may,
Nor grieve for chances cast away.

For those who answer to His call,
Find Christ the richest Gift of all.
The Master's friendship, pure and true,
Is worth far more than all we knew.

SOLEMNITY OF THE ASSUMPTION

Solemnity of the Assumption

The Solemnity of the Assumption invites us to contemplate not only where Mary is, but who she became through God's Grace. Throughout her life, Mary allowed the Lord to shape her heart into a dwelling place of perfect love. Her soul became radiant with holiness because she responded each day with faith, humility, and complete trust in God's will. The beauty of Mary was not merely outward; it was the golden beauty of a soul entirely surrendered to God.

Continuous offering of love

From the moment of her joyful "Yes" at the Annunciation until she stood faithfully beneath the Cross, Mary's life was a continuous offering of love. She treasured God's Word, pondered His mysteries in her heart, and remained steadfast through every joy and every sorrow. Grace transformed her from within, making her a living reflection of God's goodness and mercy.

Dormition

According to the ancient tradition of the Church, when Mary's earthly life drew to its close, she entered her Dormition, her peaceful "falling asleep" in the Lord. Her death was not a defeat but the completion of a life wholly united to Christ. Because she belonged so completely to her Son, God did not allow the body that had borne the Incarnate Word to remain in the grave. Mother Mary was assumed, body and soul, into heavenly glory, where she now rejoices forever in the presence of the Holy Trinity.

Promise of hope

Mary's Assumption is more than a privilege granted to one holy woman; it is a promise of hope for all who follow Christ. Her glorified life reveals the destiny God desires for His faithful people. Holiness is not beyond our reach. Like Mary, we are called to let God's grace transform our hearts day by day until the beauty of Christ shines within us.

Honour Our Lady

As we honour Our Lady today, let us ask for her prayers. May she teach us to treasure God's Word, to trust Him in every circumstance, and to grow in the golden beauty of holiness. Then, when our own earthly pilgrimage is complete, we too may be welcomed into the eternal joy of heaven, where we shall behold God face to Face and sing His praises forever.

Golden Beauty of Mary's Soul

When Mary's earthly race was run,
She journeyed to her glorious Son.
The gates of heaven opened wide,
To welcome Christ's dear Mother inside.

No stain of sin her soul could claim,
She lived for God's most holy Name.
Her heart was pure, her soul did shine,
As living temple for Divine.

Her golden soul with splendour glowed,
Reflecting every grace God had bestowed;
More radiant than the morning's light,
She glowed with heaven's beauty bright.

The angels sang with joyful voice,
The saints in glory did rejoice;
Their Queen had come with humble praise,
To share God's everlasting days.

Her head, often bowed so deep in prayer,
Was crowned with glory beyond compare.
Her faithful "Yes," so meek and free,
Now blossomed into victory.

Assumed to heaven, body and soul,
God crowned the one He had made whole.
The Queen of Heaven, crowned above,
Now reigns within God's endless Love.

Yet Mary's heart has not grown far;
She watches where her children are.
She gently leads us day by day,
To follow Christ, the Truth, the Way.

She teaches us that holiness
Is found through love and faithfulness.
A humble heart, obedient still,
Delights to do the Father's Will.

O Mary, Mother, gracious Queen,
The fairest soul the world has seen;
Pray we may walk the narrow way,
And join your song one glorious day.

Then with the angels we shall raise
Our grateful hearts in endless praise.
Where Christ our King is all in all,
And love forever conquers all.

JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM

A Pilgrimage of Faith: Joseph and Mary's Journey to Bethlehem

The journey of Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem was far more than a response to a Roman census. It was a pilgrimage of faith. Trusting in God's Providence, they travelled many difficult miles. They carried with them not only necessities for the road, but also hearts filled with confidence in the Lord's Promises.

Steadfast in faith

The journey was not easy. Mary was expecting the birth of Jesus; the roads were rough, the future uncertain. Yet neither Joseph nor Mary allowed hardship to extinguish their faith. Joseph faithfully protected his family, while Mary surrendered herself completely to God's Will. Together they journeyed in obedience, believing that God would guide every step.

Trust in God

Their pilgrimage reminds us that our own journey of faith is rarely free from obstacles. We too encounter moments of uncertainty, suffering, disappointment, and waiting. Like Joseph and Mary, we may not always understand why God leads us along certain paths.  Yet we are called to trust that the Almighty is present, even when the road is difficult.

Light of the World

When Joseph and Mary finally arrived in Bethlehem, they found no room at the inn. Yet what appeared to be rejection became the place where God's greatest Gift entered the world. In the humble stable, Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, was born. God transformed poverty into glory, and weakness into salvation.

Imitate the faith of Joseph and Mary

As we continue our own pilgrimage through life, let us imitate the faith of Joseph and Mary. May we walk with courage and trust God's Providence in every circumstance. Let us welcome Christ into our hearts each day. Then every step of our journey, whether joyful or difficult, will lead us closer to the eternal Bethlehem - the Kingdom of God, where Christ reigns forever.

No Room, Yet Room for Grace

At last they reached fair Bethlehem,
As evening's light grew faint and dim;
Their weary feet had travelled far,
Still guided by Heaven's faithful star.

They knocked upon each crowded door,
Yet heard the words, "We have no more."
No place to rest, no welcome there,
No room was found for Heaven's Heir.

What seemed rejection, cold and deep,
Became the place where love would keep.
For God can turn our darkest night
Into dawn of holy light.

A humble stable, rough and small,
Became the greatest home of all.
No royal hall, no throne of gold,
Could match the wonders there untold.

Upon the straw the Christ Child lay,
The Light of Worlds, the Truth, the Way.
The King of kings in weakness came,
Yet every heart He sought to claim.

The cattle watched, the angels sang,
With joyful praise the heavens rang.
The shepherds knelt in awe-filled grace,
Beholding God in Mary's embrace.

The poorest place was heaven's Choice,
That all the world might hear His Voice.
Where human eyes saw loss and shame,
God's endless Love forever came.

He turned rejection into grace,
And made the stable a holy place.
He clothed our poverty with His Love,
And drew our earth to Heaven above.

He changed our weakness into might,
Our deepest darkness into light.
From humble birth to Calvary's tree,
He won our hope eternally.

So when life's doors seem firmly barred,
And every road appears too hard,
Remember Bethlehem's sacred story;
God turns our poverty into glory.

For Christ still enters hearts today
That humbly welcome Him to stay;
And every soul that makes Him room
Will find new life beyond the tomb.

PILGRIM HEART OF THE QUEEN OF SHEBA

Queen of Sheba

Jesus reminded His listeners that "the Queen of the South came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed, something greater than Solomon is here" (Matthew 12:42).

The Queen of Sheba possessed what every disciple needs: a pilgrim heart. Although she was wealthy, powerful and admired, she knew that material success could never satisfy the deepest longings of the human soul. When she heard of Solomon's God-given wisdom, she set out on a long and demanding journey across the desert. Her pilgrimage required perseverance, humility and an openness to be taught. She was willing to leave behind comfort and certainty in order to seek the truth.

Willing to listen

Her example challenges us today. We live in a world overflowing with information, opinions and distractions; yet true wisdom is found only in Jesus Christ. The Saviour is infinitely greater than Solomon, for He is Wisdom made flesh. The question is not whether Christ speaks, but whether we have hearts willing to listen.

Hunger for God's Word

A pilgrim heart is never satisfied with a superficial faith. It hungers for God's Word and seeks His Presence in prayer. Faith receives Jesus in the Eucharist, and allows His Teachings to shape daily life. Like the Queen of Sheba, we are invited to travel - not across deserts of sand, but across the deserts of pride, self-reliance, and indifference that can keep us from God.

Queen of Sheba as inspiration

Jesus points to the Queen of Sheba because she responded to the light she had been given. We have received an even greater gift: the living Christ, His Gospel, His Church and His Holy Spirit. If the Queen of Sheba journeyed so far to hear the wisdom of Solomon, how much more should we seek the wisdom of Jesus each day?

Pilgrims of faith

May the Queen of Sheba inspire us to become pilgrims of faith, always searching for Christ with humble and generous hearts. Then, when we stand before Him on the day of Final Judgment, we shall not be strangers to the King's Voice. Rather, we shall be faithful disciples who have listened, believed, and followed Him. Hearing Christ's Voice throughout our lives, may we also hear His joyful welcome: "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Master."

Pilgrim heart of the Queen of Sheba

The Queen of Sheba heard the call,
A whispered truth beyond them all;
Her pilgrim heart could not remain,
Content with wealth or worldly gain.

She crossed the sands beneath the sky,
With searching soul and questing eye;
Each weary step, each desert mile,
Was lit by hope for all the while.

She sought not jewels, thrones, or gold,
Nor stories that were often told;
She longed to hear God's wisdom's voice,
The treasure of the truest choice.

Before King Solomon she stood,
And found his counsel wise and good.
Her heart rejoiced, her spirit sang,
As heaven's truth within her rang.

Yet One far greater calls today,
The Christ who is the Living Way;
His Wisdom shines with endless light,
Dispelling darkness with His Might.

He calls each pilgrim, "Come to Me;
Walk in My truth and you are free.
Let every step be filled with grace,
Until you see My glorious Face."

Like Sheba's Queen, may we arise,
With faithful hearts and lifted eyes;
May nothing keep our souls apart
From Christ, the longing of our heart.

For every life must one day stand,
Before the Judge with pierced Hand.
How blessed those who learned His Voice,
Who made His holy Will their choice.

The pilgrim heart that seeks His Face,
Will find His Mercy and His Grace -
As on that great and final day,
All fear and darkness flee away.

So let us journey while we can,
According to God's loving plan.
Like Sheba's Queen, our hearts made new,
Forever faithful, Lord, to You.

Lead us, Jesus, day by day,
Upon Your everlasting way.
Until our pilgrimage is done,
And we rejoice before Your Throne.

Saint Padre Pio loved Jesus above all things. He spent long hours in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament and faithfully celebrated the Holy Mass with profound devotion. The wounds of Christ, which Padre Pio bore in his own body, were a sign of his deep union with the Passion of our Lord.

He welcomed suffering, not for his own sake, but for the salvation of souls. As a humble Capuchin friar, he devoted countless hours to hearing Confessions, offering wise spiritual counsel, and bringing sinners to the mercy of God.

Padre Pio reminds us that holiness is found in loving God completely and loving others selflessly. He teaches us to pray without ceasing, to trust in God's Providence, and never to lose hope, for Jesus is always with us.

Prayer for Healing

"Padre Pio, faithful servant of God, you bore the wounds of Jesus with patience and love. Through your powerful prayers, ask our Lord to heal all who suffer in body, mind or spirit.

Comfort those who are sick, strengthen those who are discouraged, console those who mourn, and bring peace to troubled hearts.

Help us to unite our own sufferings with the Cross of Christ, trusting that God can bring great good from every trial.

May Jesus, the Divine Physician, grant healing according to His Holy Will and fill us with His peace.

Amen."

Prayer for Families and Communities

"Padre Pio, pray for our families and communities.

Teach us to place God at the centre of our homes through prayer, forgiveness and love. Help husbands and wives to remain faithful, parents to guide their children in holiness, and youth to seek God's Will with generous hearts.

Intercede for our Church, our communities and our nations. May we become instruments of peace, mercy and reconciliation.

Lead many souls to discover the joy of Confession, the grace of the Holy Eucharist, and the infinite mercy of Jesus Christ.

Amen."

"Almighty God, You gave Padre Pio the grace to share in the Passion of Your Son and to lead countless souls to Your mercy.

Grant that, through his prayers, we may grow in faith, hope and charity. Teach us to pray with confidence, to receive the Sacraments with devotion, and to carry our crosses with patience and love.

May we always trust in Your Divine Providence and never lose hope in Your unfailing mercy.

Bring us one day to the eternal joy of heaven, where, together with Padre Pio and all the saints, we shall praise You forever.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen."

NOVENA TO SAINT PADRE PIO

The Novena to Saint Padre Pio is a time of prayer, trust and surrender to God. Through Padre Pio's powerful intercession, we ask for healing, perseverance in suffering, growth in holiness, love of the Holy Eucharist, and confidence in God's infinite mercy.

"In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Heavenly Father, You called Saint Padre Pio to be a faithful son of Saint Francis and a humble servant of Your Church. Through a life of prayer, sacrifice and unwavering trust, he became a powerful witness to the love and mercy of God.

Lord Jesus, through the prayers of Padre Pio, grant me the grace to grow in faith, to love You more deeply in the Holy Eucharist, and to seek Your mercy through sincere repentance.

Help me to carry my daily crosses with patience, to forgive those who have wronged me, and to place all my hope in Your loving Providence.

Saint Padre Pio, faithful servant of Christ, I confidently ask for your intercession.

(Here mention your intention.)

If it is God's Holy Will, obtain for me the favour I now seek.

Teach me to pray with perseverance, to love the Sacraments, to remain faithful during times of suffering, and to trust that God's grace is always sufficient.

Please pray for the sick, the poor, the dying, priests, families, and all who seek God's mercy.

Lead me each day closer to Jesus and Mary, so that one day I may rejoice with you in the everlasting happiness of heaven.

I thank you, dear Padre Pio, for your loving intercession and entrust myself completely to the mercy of Almighty God.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
